Hey there, Innovation Nation!\u00a0 My guest today is a curious Canadian.\u00a0 I won’t give too much away just yet, but his focus on the importance of uniqueness prompted me to look up this quote by Salman Rushdie<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

“Human beings, you see, do absolutely two primary things. We see like and unlike. Like becomes, in literature, simile and metaphor. Unlike becomes uniqueness and difference, from which I believe, the novel is born.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Similarities and differences drive the uniqueness of human culture.\u00a0 Without similarities we would have no common ground upon which to connect.\u00a0 Yet without the differences, we would have no reason to exist because another person could just as easily take our place.<\/p>\n

Teenagers are at that point in their lives when they are just beginning to find out what makes them unique.\u00a0 We have found the environment we create in the Inventor’s Bootcamp to be one of those magical places where uniqueness and creative exploration grow.\u00a0 Every single class we can honestly say, “I’ve never seen that before!”\u00a0 Students never cease to amaze us like the bottle-top-vampire-security-system built by three teenage girls last summer.\u00a0 The new skills students learn and the uniqueness they bring make the Inventor’s Bootcamp an unforgettable experience.<\/p>\n

\"D7K_6617<\/a>\u00a0Added an open source package to my website that allows my podcast audience to send a text message and receive back a content upgrade.
It helps them by adding value and it helps me by gaining their contact info. That’s “cyber-making” but I guess the last thing I made of some\u00a0significance was a rope tow that connects to the PTO of my small farm tractor so the kids can get pulled up our hill after they slide\u00a0down it. It needs more work to make it safer and to beef up some parts that weren’t strong enough but I thought it was pretty cool.<\/p>\n
