Why did I enjoy it? I used to play with it. I used to do whatever I felt like doing&#8211;it didn&#8217;t have to do with whether it was important for the development of nuclear physics, but whether it was interesting and amusing for me to play with&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>So I got this new attitude&#8230;\u00a0 I&#8217;m going to play with physics, whenever I want to, without worrying about any importance whatsoever.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Within a week I was in the cafeteria and some guy, fooling around, throws a plate in the air. As the plate went up in the air I saw it wobble, and I noticed the red medallion of Cornell on the plate going around. It was pretty obvious to me that the medallion went around faster than the wobbling&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>It was effortless. It was easy to play with these things. It was like uncorking a bottle: Everything flowed out effortlessly. I almost tried to resist it! There was no importance to what I was doing, but ultimately there was. He&#8217;s also an Adjunct Professor for the University of Redlands&#8217; School of Education.\u2028<\/p>\n<p>Tim finished 2nd place at the 2009 U.S. MONOPOLY National Championship in Washington, D.C. His story can be seen, along with that of other finalists, in the Four Emmy Award-winning documentary film &#8220;Under the Boardwalk (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.monopolydocumentary.com\/\">www.MonopolyDocumentary.com<\/a>, on iTunes, Hulu+ and Amazon).<\/p>\n<p>Tim&#8217;s expertise is using Monopoly, the world&#8217;s most famous board game, as a teaching tool in his classroom to teach Common Core math skills, as well as high-level business, economics, and social-negotiation skills. Tim&#8217;s students have won actual MONOPOLY tournament games against U.S. &amp; World Champions, all while significantly improving their overall academic test scores.\u2028<\/p>\n<p>He has spoken all across the nation to thousands of teachers and business leaders about his MONOPOLY Academy classroom education program.
