Hi, I\u2019m Tyler Tervooren\u2014independent entrepreneur and founder of Riskology.co. I\u2019ve started 7 businesses and traveled to more than 20 different countries.\u00a0My life sounds exciting to outsiders, but anyone who\u2019s known me a while knows it hasn\u2019t always been like this.<\/p>\n

I grew up in a small town where you were praised for living a simple, conservative life. You were supposed to play it safe and always go for the sure thing. Step out and do something unusual, and you were quickly discounted as a weirdo.<\/p>\n

Living that life felt safe, but unfulfilling. So, when I moved away the day after graduating high school, I started to make a priority of stepping outside my comfort zone and trying new things to see where they\u2019d lead me.<\/p>\n

There were a lot of false starts and I headed down a few bad paths, but every failure taught a lesson I\u2019d never learned before. Along the way, I met people who were living lives I couldn\u2019t imagine. They had weird, fun jobs I\u2019d never heard of. They\u2019d been to places I didn\u2019t know existed. They were happy because they\u2019d found ways to get around the default life path.<\/p>\n

They weren\u2019t broke (in fact, they were usually quite wealthy), they weren\u2019t outcasts (quite the opposite), and they weren\u2019t crazy. A lightbulb went on. It actually is possible for normal people like you and me to take big risks in life and succeed.<\/p>\n

For more than 10 years, I\u2019ve been fascinated with learning the strategies and tactics normal people can use to do things usually reserved only for the super-privileged. I study how investors behave; new breakthroughs and little-known truths of human psychology; and the strategies of thriving artists.<\/p>\n

What I\u2019ve found is most big risks in life are only risky because you don\u2019t understand them. By combining your passion and intuition with proven research and smart-strategy, you can win at almost anything you want to.<\/p>\n
