Table Top Inventing is on the road this summer bringing the Inventor’s Bootcamp to a city near you!\u00a0 So far we’ve been in Hesperia CA, Chattanooga TN, and Atlanta GA.\u00a0 Along the way we’ve been checking out historical sites like Martin Luther King’s Birthplace and Memorial.\u00a0 Talk about a history lesson!\u00a0 Next stop is Murphy, NC (July 24-29).\u00a0 Hope you’ll join us!<\/p>\n

Atlanta Inventor’s Bootcamp Wrap Up<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Atlanta Inventor’s Bootcamp was a blast for both students and teachers!\u00a0 We had a fantastic group of 18 students and 4 teachers that were very high energy and lots of fun.\u00a0 Everyone enjoyed learning the basics and then designing and testing their 5S security systems.\u00a0 Special thanks to The Children’s School of Atlanta for providing the perfect “Secret Headquarters” for our special agents.<\/p>\n

“Making Sense of #Maker Edu” at Southern Adventist University<\/strong><\/p>\n

Steve and Debby are hosting a day-long seminar for the faculty and staff at Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, TN on August 4th.\u00a0 Educators from Collegedale\/Chattanooga area K-12 schools are invited to attend.\u00a0 This intensive one-day workshop will cover the basics of maker education including pedagogy, technology, and practical implementation.\u00a0 With all the media hype about 3D printing and personalized electronic solutions, it is important to be able to distinguish between fact and fiction when considering tools and pedagogical approaches.\u00a0 Educators curious about the maker movement or interested in starting an academic makerspace will find this course both philosophically grounded and filled with practical experience.\u00a0<\/p>\n
