{"id":3193,"date":"2014-05-02T10:01:34","date_gmt":"2014-05-02T17:01:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ttinvent.com?p=3193&#038;preview_id=3193"},"modified":"2014-04-11T00:06:21","modified_gmt":"2014-04-11T07:06:21","slug":"untitled-10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/developinginnovators.com\/education\/?p=3193","title":{"rendered":"Maker Educators \u2013 We need your help at the Maker Playground @ ISTE 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-3197\" alt=\"Independent Schools Special Interest Group - ISTE\" src=\"http:\/\/ttinvent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/sigis_ning1.jpg\" width=\"170\" height=\"170\" srcset=\"http:\/\/developinginnovators.com\/education\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/sigis_ning1.jpg 170w, http:\/\/developinginnovators.com\/education\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/sigis_ning1-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/developinginnovators.com\/education\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/sigis_ning1-75x75.jpg 75w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 170px) 100vw, 170px\" \/>At the upcoming 2014 ISTE Conference in Atlanta, the Independent School Special Interest Group (SIG-IS) is organizing one of the many playgrounds that will be at the conference.<\/p>\n<p>Our playground,\u00a0<em>Maker Playground and Agile Learning<\/em>\u00a0<em>Spaces<\/em>\u00a0will be held on the last day of the conference, Tuesday, July 1st from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.<em>\u00a0<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em>This\u00a0playground will be set up to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To provide a hands-on, interactive maker\u2019s environment for attendees to explore<\/li>\n<li>To create a prototype agile learning space that demonstrates \u201cnew\u201d classroom ideas<\/li>\n<li>To demonstrate some of the new digital fabrication tools in used in schools to fuel innovation<\/li>\n<li>To provide a framework on how to create or expand your own maker spaces<\/li>\n<li>To provide curricular connections in all curricular areas: Arts, STEM, Humanities, and Languages<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are looking for teachers who are attending ISTE and who will be willing to share their expertise and volunteer time to present in our playground.
